Five Israeli soldiers were killed and around 15 others, some with serious injuries, were wounded in clashes in the Jabalia area in northern Gaza, according to informed sources. According to media reports, the Israeli army is conducting preliminary investigations into the incident to determine whether the soldiers were hit by friendly fire. The Israeli army had announced on Wednesday the death of a soldier during the ongoing battles in southern Gaza. Israeli media has revealed "fierce battles" taking place between the Israeli army and Palestinian factions in Jabalia, northern Gaza.
