Notice on the Closing of Public Institutions and Municipalities for Eid al-Fitr

Prime Minister Najib Mikati issued Administrative Memorandum No. 9/2024, which mandates the closure of all public administrations, public institutions, and municipalities for the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. The memorandum states the following: "Based on Decree No. 15215 dated 27/9/2005 and its amendments, which aims to designate official holidays and occasions, and in celebration of Eid al-Fitr, all public administrations, public institutions, and municipalities will be closed on the first and second days of the holiday, according to the Dar al-Fatwa's announcement for the first of Shawwal (the first day of Eid al-Fitr) and the announcement from the Shiite Higher Council. In case the timing of the holiday coincides on the same day, the closure will be for only two days."
