A Saudi citizen showcased a vintage car that is half a century old at a classic car exhibition in the Kingdom, where residents are known for their strong connection to vehicles of all types. Ayed Mohammed Al-Qahtani brought the car, which belonged to his father, from the Asir region in the southwest of the Kingdom to the classic car exhibition held in the Al-Qassim region, north of the capital, Riyadh, drawing admiration from the exhibition's visitors.
Al-Qahtani states that his French car, a "Peugeot 404," has witnessed many events and occasions during his father Mohammed's youth. At one time, it was the only car in the village affiliated with Sarawat Abidah in Asir, used for transporting people, supplies, and anything else that came to mind.
Perhaps the most significant moments in the car's history, dating back to 1974, are when it became the car of joy in the village, having transported 25 brides during various wedding celebrations. Ayed and his brothers decided to keep this car, which remains active after almost half a century, during which it served as the family's and village's taxi and continues to participate in numerous events today, including a parade in Riyadh organized to commemorate the recent Foundation Day anniversary, according to "Aram News."
