The Ministry of Health issued a statement refuting the circulating news about the strange illness, emphasizing that no deaths have been recorded as recently reported on Facebook.

The ministry confirmed that it monitors daily epidemiological reports issued by health directorates through the departments of infectious and chronic diseases, which track the cases presented to health facilities, showing the rate of spread and severity of diseases. Based on this, the ministry reassured that through surveillance and monitoring, there has been no increase in any disease cases, explaining that influenza cases are still within normal limits.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Ministry of Health also affirmed that it has taken and implemented all preventive and precautionary measures in the event of any change in the epidemiological curve of any disease, and has increased preparations to enhance responses to any health developments related to infectious diseases or others. It emphasized its commitment to monitoring all developments and updates related to surveillance, investigation, and combating diseases and their global developments.
