Ongoing Search: Iranian Army Headed to Helicopter Crash Site

The Iranian army announced its movement towards the site of the helicopter incident involving President Ibrahim Raisi, expressing hope to "bring good news to the people." For his part, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent reported that "rescue teams are continuing their work, and the location of the incident has not been precisely determined yet." According to the Mehr news agency, a rescue team official stated, "We are three hours away from the expected area where the President's helicopter may have fallen." The Revolutionary Guard is using flares in the search operation for the helicopter. According to the Iranian army, "a signal was received from the helicopter and from the mobile phone of one of the crew members at the crash site." The Iranian Vice President for Executive Affairs announced that "contact has been made with one of the passengers of the President's helicopter and one of the crew members."
