Palestine has demanded the immediate implementation of the Security Council resolution regarding a ceasefire in Gaza, considering the Israeli attack on the resolution as "unjustified" and revealing "Netanyahu's undisclosed objectives of the war." The Foreign Ministry, in a statement, asserted that "the fierce Israeli assault on the Security Council resolution adopted yesterday is unjustified and signifies the determination of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the members of his ruling right-wing coalition to pursue their nefarious, undisclosed goals of the war solely through military means, favoring the logic of brutal military power over reason, politics, and diplomatic efforts to systematically destroy the Gaza Strip and eliminate all forms of human life within it."
It emphasized that "Netanyahu's declared objectives of the war are completely contradictory and difficult to prioritize in clear and explicit terms without this inherent contradiction, which explains the continuous Israeli rejection of all forms of international efforts to halt the war and ensure the protection of civilians and the provision of their basic humanitarian needs." The ministry remarked that "what Netanyahu persistently seeks to conceal are his true objectives, considering that his war primarily aims to render the entirety of Gaza, from north to south, devoid of humanitarian function."
It viewed that "the Security Council resolution provides a viable foundation for reaching a lasting ceasefire and resolving the entire crisis through political and diplomatic means, and it is binding and must be implemented," warning against "any interpretations or proposals for mechanisms that would aim to strip it of its essence." The ministry called for "the immediate implementation of the resolution with binding mechanisms that fully align with its text."
