The "Fatah" and "Hamas" movements have emphasized the necessity of national unity and ending the division, within the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization, "the legitimate and sole representative of the Palestinian people." The two movements agreed at the conclusion of a national dialogue session held in Beijing, China, on "the importance of a unified Palestinian stance regarding the aggression against the Gaza Strip," and reiterated the "importance of stopping the genocide and the complete withdrawal of the occupation army from the Gaza Strip, as well as coordinating joint national efforts to deliver aid and urgent relief to Gaza."
They also agreed on the necessity of reviving joint committees and addressing any issues that may arise, as well as stopping media exchanges. Fatah and Hamas stressed the importance of coordinating positions and efforts in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, to confront settler attacks on villages and towns, as well as assaults on the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The two movements affirmed the prioritization of the prisoners' issue and the need to uphold their rights and support them during this difficult period, where they face horrific forms of abuse and harm inside prisons.
