Situations in the South and UNRWA File on Bou Habib's Table

The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bou Habib, discussed the conditions in the south and the importance of implementing Resolution 1701 with the United Nations Special Coordinator, Joanna Fronzska. They also addressed the ramifications of the Syrian displacement crisis and the role of the United Nations through its organizations in helping Lebanon overcome this crisis. Bou Habib, along with the Director-General of UNRWA, Dorothy Klaus, discussed the difficulties faced by UNRWA in meeting the needs of Palestinian refugees due to financial challenges, as well as the military developments occurring in Gaza, which hinder the organization's ability to fulfill its role. Additionally, they touched upon the conditions in Palestinian camps in Lebanon and the role of UNRWA in continuing to support Palestinian refugees.
