Hamas: Israel Refused to Take 7 Detainees and 3 Bodies in Exchange for Extending the Truce

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) stated that Israel refused to accept seven detainees, including women and children, and the bodies of three others that the movement claims were killed due to Israeli shelling of the Gaza Strip in exchange for extending the temporary truce until Thursday. The movement noted in a statement that the Israeli refusal came "despite our confirmation through mediators that this number is all that the movement has reached regarding detainees from the same agreed category." There was no immediate comment from Israel. The truce between Israel and Hamas is set to end at 7:00 AM local time (0500 GMT).
