Clarification from the Beirut Fire Brigade Regarding the Pizza Restaurant Fire

The Beirut Fire Brigade announced that "some news outlets reported that sources from the Beirut Fire Brigade revealed that the cause of the fire at pizza secret restaurant yesterday was due to welding gas pipes. The Beirut Fire Brigade wishes to emphasize that its work is professional and based on science and evidence, not speculation. Therefore, the command of the brigade confirms that, based on the order of the Governor of Beirut, Judge Marwan Aboud, two expert officers have been assigned to begin examining the fire site and collecting evidence to determine the cause of the incident. After completing their work, they will prepare a report and submit it to the relevant authority." The statement continued: "Any statement on behalf of the brigade is to be issued either by the brigade commander, Brigadier General Maher Al-Ajuz, or by the head of the Public Relations Division, Captain Ali Najem. Any other statements would be unfounded and incorrect."
