The UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation has announced the organization of the UAE Kickboxing Championship, which will take place from January 19 to 21 at the Festival Dubai Arena. The championship is part of the federation's events and competitions agenda for the new year, aimed at supporting and developing the sport's base and utilizing all resources to enhance its presence in various continental and international arenas.
The championship will feature participation from all clubs across the country, with junior and youth players aged between 10 and 19, competing in two types of contests: "Point Fight" and "K1." The "Point Fight" category includes six age groups, whereas the "K1" category consists of four age groups.
Weigh-in and medical examinations for participants will take place on Thursday, January 18, at the Holiday Inn Festival Dubai, followed by preliminary rounds on the second day. The semi-finals will be held on Saturday, January 20, and the final matches will take place on January 21.
Ali Khoury, a member of the Board of Directors of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation and a member of the Executive Committee of the International Kickboxing Federation, stated: "We are pleased to announce the organization of the UAE Kickboxing Championship at the start of the federation's agenda for the new year, filled with various championships aimed at achieving our athletes' aspirations. The competition also represents an important opportunity to develop the sport's base and support clubs and junior and youth players with experiences and competitive know-how at official championships."
Khoury emphasized that the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation places great importance on offering programs and competitions that help realize players' and clubs' ambitions, as well as advancing the technical level to higher standards.
He added: "We are keen to continue our ambitious plans to develop the path of 'Kickboxing in the UAE,' through numerous experiences and significant opportunities that pave the way for new successes. The championship is also a promising station for players from within the country to participate and engage in competitions within the approved weights and categories, further confirming the strong and advanced position of the sport in the country, which supports the participants and enhances their experience through development opportunities, skill refinement, and competitive exposure provided by the championship."
