Biden: There is a Right to Protest but Not to

U.S. President Joe Biden stated today, Thursday, that "protests will not force him to reconsider his policies in the region," amid demonstrations taking place at universities in the United States regarding the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. Biden noted that there is "no place" for anti-Semitism at American universities but emphasized that the United States "is not a nation that silences people."

He continued: "The rule of law must be respected; we do not support repression and believe in freedom of expression. There is a right to protest, but not to instigate chaos." The American president considered that vandalism and threatening people do not constitute peaceful protests but are against the law, stressing that protests should occur without violence, destruction, or hatred, and within the legal framework.
