Shocking footage showed the moment Miss Ecuador was shot dead inside a restaurant in broad daylight and in front of onlookers, following a "secret" relationship she had with a famous gang leader who tried to hide their connection. A video from security cameras captured an unidentified person sneaking into the restaurant and shooting 23-year-old Landy Párraga while she was talking to another man beside her. The pair were enjoying breakfast during a trip to a shopping center in Quevedo. The scenes also showed two men sneaking into the establishment before one of them attacked Landy and her partner.
Quickly, Landy fell to the ground as the man she was with ducked for cover beside her, before the attacker fired another round at her while she lay on the floor. The former beauty queen appeared to have been shot multiple times, with the second attacker remaining poised at the restaurant's entrance before both assailants fled the scene. Images circulated on social media showed Landy lying in a pool of blood. The police are currently investigating, working to uncover the motive and identify the assailants involved. Párraga was a former contestant in the Miss Ecuador pageant, representing the Los Ríos province in 2022.
