Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi indicated that "the top priority is to stop the Palestinian bloodshed through intensive work with various international and regional parties to achieve a ceasefire, exchange detainees, and enforce sufficient humanitarian aid to alleviate the escalating humanitarian crisis in the sector." During the sixth Arab Parliament conference held in Cairo concerning Palestine, the Egyptian president confirmed the continuation of intensive efforts on all fronts to support the rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to an independent state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
El-Sisi praised the Arab Parliament's role in its current session in discussing several important topics, particularly artificial intelligence, ensuring alignment with contemporary challenges, and highlighting Egypt's full support for enhancing joint parliamentary work at all levels. This was commended by the attendees, who welcomed Egypt's significant role and leadership in supporting collective parliamentary action.
The developments in the Palestinian territories were also discussed, with Arab parliamentary leaders acknowledging Egypt's central role in supporting the Palestinian people and advocating for their just cause, expressing deep appreciation for Egypt's historical position rejecting the displacement of Palestinians from their lands, which prevents the liquidation of the Palestinian cause. The presidential spokesperson explained that in this context, the president reviewed Egypt's efforts to calm the situation in Gaza and protect the region from the expansion of the conflict.
