The bodies of four women were found today, Friday, on a migrant boat that ran aground off the southeastern coast of Spain. Rescue teams were alerted late Thursday about the incident, which occurred 11 nautical miles from Cartagena on the Mediterranean coast. The teams discovered the bodies of four individuals in the boat, according to a spokesperson for the rescue service. The service later stated on X platform that all the victims were women. The Civil Guard, the Spanish police responsible for the investigation, suspects that the boat was trying to reach Spain from North Africa before it ran out of fuel. The vast majority of migrants arrive in the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of West Africa.
