Title: Karky: An Additional 105 Billion LBP for Hospitals Regarding Dialysis Patients

A statement was issued by the Public Relations Directorate at the National Social Security Fund: "A week has passed since the transfer of 37 billion LBP to hospitals as dues for the treatment of dialysis patients, bringing the total amount transferred to approximately 249 billion LBP on that day. In the same context, the Director General of the National Social Security Fund, Mohammed Karky, today instructed the financial departments in the fund to transfer an additional 105 billion LBP to hospitals as dues for dialysis treatment, bringing the total paid since the beginning of 2023 to approximately 354 billion LBP. The Director General confirmed that any additional financial resources will be allocated to improve health services, especially for dialysis patients, ensuring that their treatment costs are fully covered (at a rate of 100%) is an absolute necessity. In this context, the Director General expressed hope that the Board of Directors of the fund will approve a tenfold increase in the treatment fees for MRI, CT-Scan, and PET Scan during their meeting today. Karky reiterated his warnings to any hospital that refuses to admit insured dialysis patients or demands additional financial differences under any pretext, especially after the recent increase in dialysis treatment rates, which are considered fair for hospitals, doctors, and the social security fund."
