Title: "Strong Lebanon" Calls to Avoid the Impact of Gaza War on Lebanon

Title:

The "Strong Lebanon" bloc stated that "the ongoing war from Gaza insists on itself and pushes us as Lebanese to think about what needs to be done to ensure Lebanon's security and avoid the repercussions of the war on it." The bloc believes that the solution lies in implementing the decisions issued by the United Nations and adhering to international law, as well as recognizing Israel's right for the Palestinian people to establish their fully empowered state on their land and the right of refugees to return to their homeland.

In a statement issued after their regular meeting at the "Free Patriotic Movement" headquarters, chaired by Deputy Gibran Basil, the bloc extended condolences to the families of "the victims in Palestine and Hezbollah." It called for adherence to the moral principles outlined by the heavenly religions to respect human dignity during times of war, particularly concerning the protection of children, women, the elderly, and the defenseless.

The bloc urged "Lebanese political forces of all orientations to recognize the dangers posed by the new wave of Syrian displacement into Lebanon, calling for pressure on the government and military and security agencies to fulfill their duties in securing the borders and closing the illegal crossing points used for smuggling the displaced." Additionally, the bloc called for support for municipalities in managing the situation of the displaced within their jurisdiction by applying Lebanese laws concerning security, labor, and housing.
