First Time... A Russian Patrol Ship Undertakes an Ice Voyage from Petersburg to the Far East

The Federal Security Service in the Primorye Territory received the modern patrol ship 831 from Project 22120 after a long journey across three oceans: the Atlantic, the Arctic, and the Pacific. The warship was built at the "Almas" shipyard in Petersburg. Experts describe the 831 as a "true amphibious ship" that is not afraid of thick ice. The equipment and systems it is equipped with allow it to remain at sea for an entire month without entering any port. The ship has excellent navigation systems, marine condition monitoring devices for both night and day, as well as equipment that utilizes digital information technologies, modern weapons, and speedboats. Its gear enables it to break ice up to half a meter thick. The ship is designated for performing coastal border guard duties. Among its important specifications are a speed of up to 24 nautical knots, an operational range of 6,000 kilometers, a crew of 25 members, in addition to passengers.
