TikTok has recently been buzzing with the "magic" oatmeal drink "Oatsmbk," which its creators claim has similar effects to the famous weight-loss injections "Ozempic," enabling drinkers to lose excess weight in a record time. The challenge encourages participants to consume an oatmeal drink made from oats, water, and lemon juice, aiming to lose up to 20 kilograms in just two months. After the drink went viral on the platform, doctors shared their views on the effectiveness of the oatmeal challenge.
Nutritionist Tommy Martin expressed optimism about the benefits of the "Oatsmbk" challenge in encouraging people to have a healthy breakfast; however, he warned against exaggerated claims of rapid weight loss. Martin told the "Hindustan Times" that consuming oatmeal and increasing water intake may help stimulate bowel movements, potentially contributing to some weight loss, while cautioning against "unrealistic" goals. He affirmed that oats are a healthy food that can help reduce calorie intake due to their high fiber content, but excessive consumption could lead to unnecessary health issues such as diarrhea and gastrointestinal disturbances.
