Macron Cancels Visit to Lebanon

French diplomatic sources have revealed that "French President Emmanuel Macron will head to Jordan to spend the Christmas holiday from December 21 to 23." According to these sources, Macron was initially scheduled to visit Lebanon during his holiday, but after canceling this plan, he decided to visit a French airbase in northern Jordan on December 21 and 22 and spend the Christmas holidays with the French soldiers stationed there. The Élysée Palace stated that "with the year-end holidays approaching, President Macron wishes to host a dinner prepared by the Chief Chef of the Presidency for the 350 soldiers deployed at this airbase as part of anti-terrorism efforts." According to the Élysée, this decision was made due to the volatile and unstable situation in southern Lebanon, stemming from tensions and clashes between "Hezbollah" and Israeli forces amid the ongoing war in Gaza, as well as the presidential vacuum and the lack of a new Lebanese government, prompting Macron to prefer being in Jordan with the French soldiers.
