Nigeria: Armed Attack Kills Nearly 40 People

Armed men on motorcycles killed nearly 40 people in an attack in north-central Nigeria. The local government's media commissioner, Musa Ibrahim Al-Shams, stated that the assailants invaded the village of Zurak, firing sporadically and setting homes on fire.

The media commissioner confirmed that about 40 people have been killed, noting that Zurak is a well-known mining area. The attack occurred yesterday, Monday, in the Wase area of Plateau State, which has long been plagued by land disputes, mining conflicts, and sectarian violence.
