Karki: 295 Billion for Hospitals as Compensation for Dialysis Patients' Treatment

The Public Relations Directorate of the National Social Security Fund issued the following statement today, Tuesday: "In commitment to giving special attention to the treatment of dialysis patients and considering them a top priority for the National Social Security Fund, General Director Dr. Mohammad Karki pledged to make consecutive and immediate payments to hospitals amounting to 581 billion L.L. by the end of 2023. In continuation of this approach, Dr. Karki directed on 26/3/2024 the relevant financial departments to transfer an amount of 295 billion L.L. as outstanding dues for the treatment of dialysis patients. He also requested regional and local office heads to expedite the processing of health insurance transactions for insured beneficiaries. Additionally, he instructed the Maternal and Child Health Directorate to take necessary actions to determine the value of the accumulated hospital treatment transactions for hospitals wishing to enter into reconciliation contracts with the Fund. The General Director emphasized that the Fund's duty is to ensure complete health coverage for dialysis patients (100% at the Fund's expense), which has increased 60 times compared to before the crisis, in order to prevent these patients from having to pay any financial differences. He warned hospitals to adhere to the Fund's tariff while also confirming his support for hospitals to provide them with the financial resources owed as soon as possible."
