In a simple ceremony, the late Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, was buried today, Sunday, in the Al-Sulaibikhat cemetery after passing away yesterday, Saturday, at the age of 86.
Videos and photos circulated on social media showing the new Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, shedding tears during the burial ceremony of his brother, the late Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad.
Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad attended the burial ceremony at Al-Sulaibikhat cemetery on Sunday morning after performing the funeral prayer at Bilar Ibn Rabah Mosque in the Al-Siddiq area.
The Kuwaiti Cabinet declared yesterday, Saturday, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as the new Emir following the announcement of his brother Sheikh Nawaf's death earlier that day.
