The leader of the "Qassam Brigades" - the military wing of the "Hamas" movement, Sharhabil Al-Sayed, was killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a car in Majdal Anjar. The Al-Qassam Brigades mourned Sharhabil Ali Al-Sayed (Abu Amr). In the mourning statement, it was said: "With great pride and honor, the Al-Qassam Brigades announce to our Palestinian people and our Arab and Islamic nation the martyr commander Sharhabil Ali Al-Sayed (Abu Amr), who ascended to martyrdom in the Al-Aqsa Flood battle after being targeted by Israeli occupation planes in the western Bekaa, Lebanon." The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) had previously announced the establishment of "The Vanguard of the Al-Aqsa Flood" operating from Lebanon, calling on the Palestinian people there to join it amidst the devastating war being waged by Israel on the Gaza Strip.
