Iran's Interior Ministry: We Have Arrested Some Involved in the Kerman Attacks

On Friday, as Iran held funerals for the victims of the suicide bombings that took place in Kerman province in the southeast of the country, resulting in at least 89 fatalities, the Ministry of Interior revealed new information. Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi announced the arrest of several individuals involved. He stated, "Intelligence agencies have found strong evidence regarding the individuals involved in the terrorist bombings, and they have been apprehended," as reported by the IRNA news agency. He added that all information regarding this case is now in the hands of intelligence agencies and emphasized that "intelligence is diligently and rapidly following the matter." Furthermore, he stressed that "terrorist movements supported by terrorist regimes will be brought under the control of intelligence agencies." The nearly simultaneous bombings targeted large crowds commemorating the annual observance on Wednesday in Kerman province near the martyrs' cemetery, where Soleimani is buried, amid a backdrop of heightened regional tensions due to the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
