Lebanese Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri received the Deputy Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ibrahim Aizizi, at the second presidency headquarters in Ain El Tineh, leading a parliamentary delegation alongside the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mostafa Amani. After the meeting, Aizizi condemned the brutal Zionist massacres and the genocide being perpetrated by the occupying entity against innocent and defenseless civilians in Gaza. He stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran sees a humanitarian and political duty to act on all possible levels to support the Palestinian people and the resistance in Gaza, aiming to confront this persistent Israeli terrorism.
Aizizi added that the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that various political, human rights, and parliamentary forums in the Islamic and Arab worlds, as well as globally, possess significant authorities, resources, and capacities that can be effectively and harmoniously utilized to uphold Palestinian rights and confront Israeli injustice. He noted that the Iranian parliamentary delegation represents the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee and is on a regional visit that began yesterday in Baghdad and will continue today in Beirut, with plans to move to Damascus tomorrow.
Speaker Berri also discussed general conditions and recent political developments, along with legislative matters during his reception of MPs Walid Baa'ri and Ahmad Al Khair. In the afternoon, he met with the Head of the Defense and Internal Affairs Committee, MP Jihad Al-Samad, to discuss the latest security and political updates in light of the escalating Israeli aggression on Gaza and Lebanese border villages adjacent to the occupied territories.
