The acting Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Wassim Mansouri, pointed out that "the Lebanese economy needs a revival of the banking sector and the restoration of trust among depositors." Mansouri stated from Tripoli: "The Central Bank of Lebanon is working to control the money supply, and we have regulated the circulation of the lira, where its volume in the market has decreased from 82 trillion at the beginning of 2023 to 59 trillion liras." He revealed that "the Central Bank of Lebanon achieved a surplus in its reserves amounting to 1.1 billion US dollars, which exceeds twice the amount of the USD money supply in the market, estimated at 700 million dollars."
