Netflix announced today, Monday, that it will "live stream a match between Rafael Nadal, who has won 22 Grand Slam titles, and Carlos Alcaraz, the world's second-ranked professional tennis player, on March 3." This is the latest result of the platform's shift towards live broadcasting of sports events, following the celebrity golf tournament held last November featuring Formula 1 racing drivers and professional golfers.
The match between Nadal and Alcaraz will take place at the Michelob Ultra Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The platform stated that it will announce more matches and players at a later date. The match will be broadcast in both English and Spanish. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, starting at $88. Nadal said in a statement, "I am confident it will be a great evening of tennis."
