Security Forces: Detention of a Minor in Saadiyat Leading a Motorcycle Theft Gang

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "As part of the continuous monitoring conducted by the Internal Security Forces to pursue individuals involved in motorcycle thefts across various regions in Lebanon, and to apprehend them, the Information Branch conducted field and intelligence follow-ups that led to the identification of the location of the mastermind of one of the motorcycle theft gangs in the Saadiyat area. This individual is identified as: - A. B. (born in 2008, Lebanese). On April 16, 2024, after a precise observation and surveillance operation, one of the division’s patrols managed to apprehend him in a well-planned ambush in the Saadiyat area. Upon searching him, a war pistol was found in his possession. During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding the formation and leadership of a gang executing motorcycle thefts in several areas of Mount Lebanon. The necessary legal procedures were implemented against him, and he, along with the confiscated items, was referred to the competent authority based on judicial instructions."
