Gaza Government Publishes Updated War Statistics at the Start of 2024

The Gaza government's media office published an update on the main statistics related to the war on the Gaza Strip at the beginning of the new year 2024. The office stated in a report quoted by "Russia Today" that "after 87 days of a comprehensive genocide war, Israeli forces have committed 1,838 massacres, resulting in 28,978 martyrs and missing persons." Additionally:

- 21,978 Palestinians have died in hospitals.

- 9,280 children have been martyred.

- 6,600 women have been martyred.

- 326 medical personnel have been martyred.

- 40 civil defense personnel have been martyred.

- 106 journalists have been martyred.

- 7,000 individuals are missing, 70% of whom are children and women.

- 56,697 Palestinians are injured.

- 10,000 cancer patients are facing life-threatening conditions.

- 99 health sector personnel have been arrested.

- 10 journalists are detained.

- 1.9 million displaced individuals in the Gaza Strip.

- 355,000 people affected by infectious diseases due to displacement.

- 130 government headquarters destroyed.

- 93 schools and universities completely destroyed.

- 292 schools and universities partially destroyed.

- 120 mosques completely destroyed.

- 212 mosques partially destroyed.

- 3 churches targeted and destroyed.

- 65,000 residential units completely destroyed.

- 290,000 residential units partially destroyed.

- 65,000 tons of explosives dropped on Gaza.

- 30 hospitals rendered out of service.

- 53 health centers rendered out of service.

- 150 health institutions partially targeted.

- 104 ambulances completely destroyed.

- 200 archaeological and heritage sites destroyed.

Today marks the 88th day of the war in Gaza, as Israeli forces continue their ground operations within the region, accompanied by shelling and air raids, amidst a worsening humanitarian and health crisis affecting the Palestinians.
