The sixth edition of the "Beirut International Women's Cinema Festival" honored the esteemed actress Randa Kadi, known as "Mama Randa" and dubbed the "Lady of the Lebanese Screen," yesterday at Casino du Liban, under the patronage of Minister of Tourism in the caretaker government, Walid Nassar, and in the presence of artists and media figures. Kadi spoke about the "days of the cursed war that she challenged while escaping from a sniper, pregnant with her first daughter, Petra, to reach the filming location and perform the work dearest to her heart." She pointed out that "art knows no boundaries; it is like wine that the soul thirsts for, bringing it joy even in the toughest times." For his part, Nassar announced his intention to implement an idea named Lebanon Cinema City, specifically in the Keserwan area, stating, "It is scheduled to be funded by both the public and private sectors." The festival announced in a statement that "this edition will feature the screening of more than 74 films from 45 countries, varying between short and feature films, both Lebanese and foreign, under the title: Women for Leadership."
