The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced today, Thursday, the seizure of a drug manufacturing lab during a security operation outside the boundaries of Sulaymaniyah Province. The ministry's spokesperson, Brigadier Mukdad Miri, stated in a statement, "The operation was carried out by the Federal Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Directorate in cooperation with the Anti-Narcotics Directorate in Sulaymaniyah, following information received from Syrian authorities to their Iraqi counterparts about a lab for manufacturing crystal meth and Captagon outside Sulaymaniyah." He added, "As a result of this information, a joint force moved to the location of the lab, which is two hours away from the center of Sulaymaniyah, and arrested four suspects inside who are wanted in connection with international drug trafficking, seizing between 150-180 kg of narcotic substances."
