The "National Campaign for the Return of Syrian Displaced Persons" called in a statement for its supporters, Lebanese expatriates, and friends of Lebanon to "participate in large numbers in the sit-in that will take place in front of the Palace of Justice in Brussels on Monday, the 27th of this month, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, to urge European Union leaders to change their position regarding the return of Syrian displaced persons to safe areas in Syria and to address the dangers of Syrian displacement in Lebanon." The statement added: "This sit-in comes against the backdrop of the numerous risks this displacement poses to Lebanon's security, stability, and existence, in addition to its negative impacts on the country's economic, social, and environmental conditions." It mentioned that "a delegation from the campaign, headed by legal advisor lawyer Pierre Gemayel, will participate in the sit-in in Brussels and will hold discussions and communications with members of the European Parliament regarding the implications of Syrian displacement on Lebanon's future."
