Brazil has been honored with the organization of the Women's World Cup Finals in 2027, as announced by FIFA on Friday during the "FIFA" Congress in Bangkok. Brazil outperformed the joint bid from Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium with 119 votes to 78. The president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, Ednaldo Rodrigues, commented on his country's victory: "I am very touched; we knew it would be difficult. This is a victory for South American football and for women's football in Latin America." He continued: "Rest assured, and with all humility, I tell you that we will organize the best edition of the Women's World Cup in 2027." Brazil's bid focuses on ten stadiums that were used in the men's World Cup in 2014, including the legendary Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, proposed to host the opening and final matches.
