"Defenders of Alexandria": Joint Training Between Egypt and Britain

The Egyptian and British naval forces conducted the joint naval training "Defenders of Alexandria," which lasted for several days at the Alexandria Naval Base in northern Egypt. The electronic portal "Al-Ahram" stated that the joint training is part of the ongoing training plans executed by the Egyptian armed forces with friendly countries to enhance military cooperation and exchange training expertise according to the latest combat systems.

The "Defenders of Alexandria" training included several maritime activities, such as training on the right of visit and inspection of suspicious vessels, addressing unconventional threats, live ammunition firing, and first aid training. It is noted that in April, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his British counterpart David Cameron agreed on the importance of revitalizing an effective political process aimed at achieving a comprehensive political settlement for the Palestinian issue.
