Flooding Submerges Northern Coastal Highways from Tripoli to Batroun

The heavy rainfall during the night and early morning on Saturday transformed the northern coastal roads and highways into rivers and lakes due to the overwhelming floods mixed with dirt, mud, and stones. Notably, the Qalamoun area of the highway has been diverted to adjacent lanes. In Tripoli, the port, and Qalamoun extending to Shakka and Batroun, some vehicles have been trapped by the floods, and specialized authorities are working to tow them. The Traffic Management Room noted water accumulation at the Abdah Roundabout and the coastal road opposite it, with efforts underway by civil defense teams to address the situation. The heavy rain along the coast was less intense in the highlands, where snow fell at altitudes of up to 1500 meters, but the roads are passable with caution due to poor visibility caused by fog formation. Floodwaters have blocked the road leading to the sail square in the port city near the OGM fuel station, causing water levels to rise and submerge vehicles. Additionally, employees of the Qadisha Electricity Company were prevented from entering the company building due to water covering the main entrance and flooding the premises.
