Ahmed Qabalan: National Relief Begins with Activating Labor Law and Security

The distinguished Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmed Qabalan, during the Ramadan lesson he delivers at the Imam Hussein Mosque in Borj al-Barajneh, stated that "the country today is suffering greatly from the cycle of emptiness and is in desperate need to emerge from political unemployment. The government in this regard is required to restore the strong role of the state in providing services, ensuring the security of roads, cities, and neighborhoods, and protecting the Lebanese workforce amidst an increasingly growing crime wave, especially amid the influx of displaced people. The judicial paralysis in this regard is catastrophic, and political favoritism is almost swallowing up the judiciary, which is required to take decisive action, especially regarding the non-Lebanese displacement."

He emphasized that "enforcing the law decisively is the government's largest responsibility, and the country must be rescued from non-Lebanese displacement. Municipalities in this regard are greatly negligent and commit a betrayal of national job trust by turning a blind eye to the violations related to non-Lebanese displacement. There is no excuse for anyone, especially as the country is in the midst of a national disaster. Today, national relief begins with effectively activating labor law, security, justice, residency, and consumer and patient protection, not just through stances and speeches. Security agencies, the Army Intelligence, and other security arms are required to take strong action on the ground because chaos, lawlessness, crime, and the republic of gangs are truly engulfing the country while the demon of emptiness drinks from the cup of political rift."
