An Israeli military official revealed the plan that the country adopted to counter the Iranian attack executed on Saturday evening. Iran launched a widespread attack on Israel in response to the targeting of its consulate in Damascus, involving hundreds of rockets and drones.
**Three Defensive Circles**
In an interview with the newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat," Reserve General Tzvika Hamovitch stated that Israel relied on three defensive circles to confront the Iranian assault, regardless of its tools, whether warplanes, rockets, or drones.
- The **first circle** comprises "F-35" aircraft that patrol the skies and were able to destroy several Iranian rockets launched from Yemen and Iraq towards Israel during the Gaza war before they reached their targets.
- The **second circle** involves jamming the guidance systems used by Iran, including GPS or similar systems managed by Russia and a third managed by China. If successful in jamming the missile (or drone) trajectory, it can cause it to fall into the sea or desert.
- The **third circle** includes ground defense batteries, such as "Iron Dome," "David's Sling," "Arrow 2," and "Arrow 3."
In addition to these three circles, a **fourth circle** was introduced during the Iranian attack, which involved the United States, Britain, and France launching their aircraft and missiles towards the Iranian drones from their positions on warships and aircraft carriers deployed in the Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea, and Indian Ocean.
The Israeli military reported that there were minimal damages from the Iranian strike that lasted approximately five hours, which U.S. President Joe Biden deemed a "victory for Israel."
