The acting Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen al-Mandalawi, emphasized on Wednesday the necessity of unifying the Islamic project in the region to face challenges targeting the peoples. He called for the continued promotion of values of coexistence, citizenship, and cooperation to establish security and achieve development.
The media office of the acting Speaker stated that al-Mandalawi visited the Iraqi Fatwa House today, where he met with the Chairman of the Fatwa Council, Sheikh Mahdi al-Sumaydai, along with a group of religious scholars, sheikhs, preachers, and dignitaries.
Al-Mandalawi praised the efforts of the Fatwa House and religious scholars in combating dark terrorist gangs and their significant contributions to fighting them intellectually and ideologically. He urged the continuation of efforts to confront extremism and rigidity by promoting values of tolerance, coexistence, and fostering a true spirit of citizenship.
He stressed the need to work towards unifying the Islamic project in the region to face challenges targeting Islamic peoples and to cooperate in establishing security and stability by providing our youth with all the scientific resources they need to elevate the country and enhance its regional and global presence, achieving progress and elevation for the Islamic nation.
