The Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, directed today, Sunday, to modify the personnel of the position of Army Operations Commander. A source informed "Baghdad Today" that "al-Sudani instructed to change the rank of the Army Operations Commander from Major General to Brigadier General," noting that "the measure was taken to prevent rank inflation." It was also mentioned that "the position of Baghdad Operations Commander was exempted from this directive, as it will continue with the rank of Major General."
