Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky inspected the fortifications in the Kharkiv region in the northeast of the country today, Tuesday, and issued a new call for military support to protect the country’s second-largest city from intensified Russian attacks. Zelensky visited the city, located 30 kilometers from the Russian border, and the surrounding area amid what he described as a campaign by Moscow to drive people out of the region. He thanked the residents and businesses for enduring the threats while remaining in the city and keeping life going. In his evening video address, Zelensky stated, “Strengthening this trend is very important. Russian terrorists must see that Kharkiv is growing stronger.” He added, “I am grateful to everyone who has worked over the past weeks to provide Kharkiv and the region with more electricity and to offer more protection against Russian strikes.”
