U.S. President Joe Biden stumbled and fell yesterday, Thursday, after handing out the last diploma at a graduation ceremony at the U.S. Air Force Academy, but he quickly got back up and returned to his seat. The 80-year-old president lost his footing, fell on his hands, and then got up on one knee with the assistance of three individuals. He returned to his seat without help.
After being helped to stand, the president pointed behind him at what appeared to be the object he tripped over. He then mingled with officials, displaying a smile on his face.
White House spokesperson Ben LaBolt tweeted, "Biden is fine. There was a sandbag on the stage while he was shaking hands." White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre later told reporters, "He is perfectly fine." Biden's stumble occurred after the graduation speech.
