The Houthi group announced today, Saturday, that it has "postponed the release of nearly 100 detainees from the Yemeni government forces, after previously declaring its intention to release them." A Houthi official stated that the delay is due to "technical reasons," adding that the release will take place at a later time. Abdul Qadir Al-Murtadha, head of the National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs affiliated with the Houthis, announced in a statement yesterday, Friday, that the group would release 100 detainees today as part of a "unilateral humanitarian initiative."
