Residents of the town of Bireqaa in the Nabatiyeh district intercepted a patrol belonging to the UNIFIL force today, Monday. The patrol, consisting of two four-wheel drive vehicles, was prevented from continuing its route on the town's main street. This marks the first time that a UNIFIL patrol has entered towns not under its deployment areas as stipulated in Resolution 1701. Communication was made with an army intelligence patrol from the Nabatiyeh office, which arrived and escorted the UNIFIL patrol out of the area.
