Israel Establishes "Electronic Dome" to Counter Cyber Attacks

Israel Establishes

While it has accustomed itself to intercepting missile attacks with its Iron Dome, Israel announced its intention to build an "Electronic Dome" to combat online attacks, especially against those it labeled Iranian hackers. Aviram Atsaba, head of international cooperation at the Israeli National Internet Directorate, stated, "It is a silent and invisible war." Atsaba noted that while Israel has been fighting Hamas in Gaza since the October 7 attack, it has also faced a significant increase in cyber attacks from Iran and its allies in the region, emphasizing that they have not yet succeeded in causing any real harm. He confirmed that around 800 major attacks have been thwarted since the outbreak of the Gaza war, with targets including government organizations and military and civilian infrastructure.
