German Chancellor Olaf Scholz indicated today that he "expects the International Criminal Court to consider that Israel has independent judicial authority when deciding on a potential arrest order for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu." Scholz stated, "Negotiated settlement must come before symbolic recognition of Palestinian authority." According to "Times of Israel," Israel criticized a previous statement from Scholz's office which said that Berlin would arrest Netanyahu if the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant against him. Israeli government spokesman Avi Hayman told Fox News, "Many around the world need to check their moral compass and be on the right side of history."
