Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister and Expatriates Basam Sabbagh stated, "It is difficult to predict the timing of the transition to a multipolar world, but this process has indeed started." He emphasized in a press interview that "there is no going back in this process."
Speaking on the sidelines of the high-level week of the UN General Assembly that concluded in New York, he added: "It is difficult to predict exactly when we will reach that point, but the positive thing is that this process has already begun. I am confident it will take some time, but I see no possibility of reversing the process." He pointed out that "time will reveal later the duration this will take, but I believe this is the right direction for us as developing countries to work in."
