The General Secretariat of Catholic Schools Condemns Attacks on Syrians

The General Secretariat of Catholic Schools called for tomorrow, Friday, to be a day of prayer for the salvation of Lebanon and for all Catholic schools across the country to close on this day. In a statement, it said, "The General Secretariat, while adhering to the teachings of His Holiness Pope Francis that call for the preservation of human dignity above all times and places and the right to a decent life, strongly condemns acts of killing and violations of human dignity occurring anywhere. It also denounces the security breaches occurring in Lebanon and calls on the state and its security agencies to bear their national responsibilities in establishing security and stability throughout the country, so that its schools can continue their comprehensive educational mission aimed at building an open, peaceful, and loving Lebanese citizen." It continued, "Therefore, based on the logic of peace, love, and human brotherhood that the celebrations of Easter and Eid al-Fitr encourage, the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools calls for tomorrow, Friday, to be a day of prayer for the salvation of Lebanon and for its schools to close throughout the Lebanese territory."
