As a result of the ongoing monitoring by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking activities in various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch received data regarding unknown individuals promoting drugs in the Northern Metn and Southern Dahyeh areas, using a white Range Rover SUV. Following this information, orders were issued to the specialized units in the branch to conduct field and investigative measures to reveal their identities and arrest them.
After comprehensive inquiries and investigations, the branch was able to identify the suspects: R. M. (born 2002, Syrian) with prior convictions for drug-related offenses, and J. B. (born 2007, Syrian). On February 26, 2024, after careful surveillance, one of the branch patrols arrested them in the act in the Ouzai area while they were promoting drugs from the white Range Rover, which was seized.
Upon searching them and the vehicle, the following items were confiscated:
- 5 envelopes of cocaine weighing approximately 12 grams
- 5 pieces of hashish weighing approximately 95 grams
- An envelope of hashish weighing about 2.5 grams
- 15 envelopes of baz weighing approximately 28 grams
- A capsule of cocaine weighing about 4.7 grams
- A sum of money and two mobile phones.
During interrogation, they confessed to the charges against them regarding promoting drugs to several clients in Dahyeh and Metn on behalf of a dealer, using the SUV they were arrested in. Legal action was taken against them, and they were referred along with the confiscated items to the relevant authority based on judicial orders, and the SUV was seized legally.
