Russia and Brazil Rank Second Worldwide in Retirement Age Gap Between Genders

Data from the World Bank indicates that Russia and Brazil rank second globally in terms of the difference in retirement age between genders, with women retiring five years earlier than men. The statement noted that "Russian men retire five years after women," and Russia and Brazil hold the second position among the world's largest economies in this metric. It is worth mentioning that the pension law reform in Russia in 2019 raised the retirement age in the country to 60 years for women and 65 years for men, while women in Brazil retire at the age of 65 and men at the age of 70. In China, this gap is 10 years, with women retiring at 50 and men at 60.
